Thank you

I would just like to say thank you to all the wonderful people that made it to my sweet little grandma's funeral! I know the weather was scary and kept a ton of her good friends and family from coming. I'm sure she was saying she was SOOOOO sorry and that it was inconsiderate of her. Even though she never controlled the weather, she always apologized about it. :-) It was so nice to be able to meet many of my grandma's dear friends that I have heard so much about for years. You all are as wonderful as she said you were! Thank you for being such wonderful friends to her. When she could no longer come to you....you came to her and made her day! This shows what true friends you are. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I hope everyone that was traveling made it home safely from the funeral!

Pictures

We want to thank all of you that have posted these comments on the blog! They have meant a great deal to all of us, especially Grandma. We know many of you would like to attend the funeral, but can't for various reasons. But please accept our love and thanks. We will be publishing a book of remembrance for all the grandkids so that they may always remember their Grandma and the wonderful influence she has been on many people. Paula and David's grandchildren range from 21 to 3 so the younger ones will need a little help filling in the gaps of Grandma's life that they couldn't hear from her at her knee. We would like to include a picture of everyone of you that has sent emails, commented and continue to comment on the blog with stories or feelings you have of Grandma. It will be great to be able to put a face with the name! Please email the pictures to me at jessiehansen89@gmail.com If you have any questions let me know!! Thank you for helping make this book possible!

Memories

Hello everyone!! We have learned in the last few days that preparing for a funeral is a lot of work! If any of you would be comfortable sharing stories and/or thoughts about Grandma, please comment. Grandpa checks the blog several times a day and enjoys reading the comments. If you have any thoughts you would like to share with him this is a great way to do so. Thanks!

Funeral Address

There are a lot of you confused as to which address is correct for the funeral. The newspaper messed up the address and when the obituary was supposed to be run!  6575 S. Eagle Road, Meridian Id, 83642 is the correct place. It is our stake center. I'm sooooooo sorry for the confusion. Please let people know that don't follow the blog that the Eagle Road address is correct, it should be fixed for the Sunday and Monday papers. Thank you all for your lovely words of comfort, delicious food, cards, flowers, and prayers at this hard and trying time in my family's lives! They are ALL greatly appreciated and we all can't thank you enough.

Obituary

Paula T. Hansen, 67, of Meridian died peacefully at her home November 23, 2010.   She was born September 16, 1943 in Provo, UT to Dr. V.V. and Iola Telford.  She graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1961.   She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was married October 18, 1963 to her lifelong sweetheart H. During her married life, she resided in San Diego, Boise, Rupert, Emmett, and Meridian, Idaho.  She was a meticulous homemaker.

In 1975 she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She courageously fought the disease with dignity and without complaint.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, four children Scott (Sheila), Susan (Eric) Spencer, Steve (Rakelle), Shelli (John) Nye, fourteen grandchildren and her brother Virgil Telford of Spanish Fork, UT. Wednesday Update

Good news, Grandpa slept last night!!!!! Trying to arrange all the funeral details is busy busy work. They want to get it just the way Grandma wants it. :) NO pressure! There will be a viewing Tuesday, Nov 30 from 5pm-7pm and the funeral Wednesday, Dec 1 at 11am. As of right now we don't know where it will be. We are trying to get a chapel somewhere in the Boise area that is available. So keep watching for the location. (hopefully we will have it soon) Thank you all again for your kind words and prayers for all of us.

Tuesday Update

There is a right way and a wrong way to do things, and mom always does things the right way.    Last night, after receiving a blessing she said that she would do what she was supposed to do.   Shortly thereafter, she told all of us that she loves us and asked dad to put her in her bed.     As the night went on, her breathing became weaker and weaker.   With dad by her side, and her children resting in the front room, she returned to her Father in Heaven as snow softly settled on the ground outside.
Yesterday mom wanted Susan and Shelli to help her stand, and today she is running.   She didn’t want to take any more medicine and now she doesn’t have to.   She didn’t want to have any more pain, and today she pain free.   She wanted everyone to know just how much she loved them.
In the coming weeks, finance experts will be perplexed as they see the stock prices for Kleenex and Hallmark plummet.   Those of us that know mom will understand.
We are very grateful to the many kind friends that brought meals.   Unfortunately we don’t recall what belongs to whom, so please help us identify your items.
We are very grateful for all the kind words and many, many prayers on mom’s behalf.   We will do all we can to strengthen and help dad in this difficult and bittersweet time.    For those that may wonder what you can do to help, keep doing what you’ve been doing.
We are working on funeral plans, so stay tuned to the blog.
